We speak the same language. We hold the same values. And together our warriors have defended the same extraordinary civilization under twin banners of red, white and blue.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The trip comes amid Trump\u2019s rocky relationship with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, primarily for the UK not supporting America\u2019s war with Iran. But the president looked past that, recalling the deep partnership that the two countries share.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cBeneath those beautiful flags, eight decades ago, Prime Minister Winston Churchill and President Franklin Roosevelt families famously met on a ship in the North Atlantic to outline a vision for the free world after World War Two,\u201d Trump said. \u201cThat understanding of our nation\u2019s unique bond and role in history is the essence of our special relationship, and we hope it will always remain that way.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Trump called the U.S. and the UK \u201cthe two most exceptional nations the world has ever known.\u201d <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">After their private visit in the Oval Office, the president said the meeting with King Charles was \u201creally good\u201d and said the king is a \u201cfantastic person.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Copyright 2026 Gray DC.
