{"id":26944,"date":"2026-05-02T05:15:10","date_gmt":"2026-05-02T05:15:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/britain\/26944\/"},"modified":"2026-05-02T05:15:10","modified_gmt":"2026-05-02T05:15:10","slug":"us-embassy-now-warns-terror-attack-on-britain-is-highly-likely-just-hours-after-uk-raised-threat-level-to-severe","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/britain\/26944\/","title":{"rendered":"US embassy now warns terror attack on Britain is &#8216;highly likely&#8217; just hours after UK raised threat level to &#8216;severe&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"\">The US embassy in Britain has warned Americans an attack on the UK is &#8220;highly likely&#8221; &#8211; just hours after security chiefs raised the country&#8217;s threat level to &#8220;severe&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>An attack is highly likely within the next six months following an increase in &#8220;Islamist and extreme right-wing ideology&#8221; in the UK, British counter-terror bosses said on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>And last night, the US embassy issued a security alert cautioning its citizens to stay safe.<\/p>\n<p>In particular, Americans are told to stay alert in public places including schools, hospitals, churches, tourist hotspots and transport hubs.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Vary your travel routes and times to reduce predictability,&#8221; it adds, and calls on people to keep a &#8220;low profile&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>The American warning is based on the threat level assessments made by the Joint Terrorism Analysis Centre (Jtac) &#8211; part of MI5.<\/p>\n<p>Jtac says Islamist terrorism &#8220;remains the primary threat to the UK&#8221; &#8211; though also cautions that &#8220;extreme right-wing terrorism&#8221; is steadily rising.<\/p>\n<p>Gary Mond, the chairman of the Reform Jewish Alliance, told GB News his community was under threat from &#8220;militant Islamists acting on the orders of the Government in Iran&#8221; as well as &#8220;many illegal immigrants&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" id=\"27891\" data-rm-shortcode-id=\"9e87751cebb1361144d9c93a2a3e8e30\" data-rm-shortcode-name=\"rebelmouse-image\" class=\"rm-shortcode rm-lazyloadable-image \" lazy-loadable=\"true\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml,%3Csvg%20xmlns='http:\/\/www.w3.org\/2000\/svg'%20viewBox='0%200%205000%203333'%3E%3C\/svg%3E\" data-runner-src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/britain\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/police-outside-the-us-embassy-in-london-in-2023.jpg\" width=\"5000\" height=\"3333\" alt=\"Police outside the US embassy in London in 2023\"\/><\/p>\n<p>PICTURED: Police outside the US embassy in London in 2023. Why am I on a march where this is the chant?'&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>He added: &#8220;I&#8217;m not saying, of course, that there aren&#8217;t very strong legitimate views about the Middle East, about Gaza.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We all have deep concerns about it. This Government has recognised Palestine just last year.
