A Reform candidate has allegedly been attacked while campaigning in Glasgow<\/a>. Councillor Thomas Kerr, one of the party’s candidates in the city, is said to have been assaulted <\/a>while leafleting in Shettleston on Friday, May 1.<\/p>\n

Police Scotland said it was made aware of an assault on a man at Strowan Road in the east end around 2.15pm on Friday. The force said that another man will be the subject of a report to the procurator fiscal.<\/p>\n

A Reform spokesperson, meanwhile, dubbed the alleged incident “unacceptable”. The spokesperson for the party said: “What has been witnessed on the streets of Glasgow today against Thomas Kerr <\/a>was beyond unacceptable \u2013 free speech is important, but no politician should be subjected to violence while out campaigning.”<\/p>\n

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: \u201cWe were made aware of an assault on a man at Strowan Road in Glasgow around 2.15pm on Friday, May 1.<\/p>\n

\u201cNo-one was injured and another man will be the subject of a report to the Procurator Fiscal.\u201d<\/p>\n

Kerr is Reform\u2019s top regional List candidate in Glasgow and is almost certain to become an MSP after the election.<\/p>\n

It comes just days after Leader of Reform UK Scotland and millionaire Malcolm Offord claimed Scots “want to be like him” as he denied claims he was out of touch after bragging about owning six houses and six boats<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Lord Offord visited Castlemilk in Glasgow this week where he said he wanted to help residents “get out and achieve”.<\/p>\n

His visit to the southside of the city came just hours after he shared a picture on social media of his “biggest yacht” – a racing vessel named Braveheart – and invited Greens co-leader Ross Greer to join him on board.<\/p>\n

The former Conservative peer had raised eyebrows at the STV leaders’ debate on Tuesday night where informed a live audience: “I own six houses, five cars and six boats”<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The former Tory party donor – who bought a \u00a31.6 million country house on the banks of Loch Lomond without a mortgage – has previously refused to answer questions on his net worth<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The SNP is on course for a record fifth term in office with just days to go until the Holyrood election, according to a new poll<\/a> conducted using the Survation online panel and released by the Edinburgh\u2011based research agency Diffley Partnership.<\/a><\/p>\n

In the constituencies, the polls show the SNP on 38pc, with Reform second on 20pc and Labour trailing on 18pc. The Tories are on 12 per cent, the Lib Dems are on 10 per cent while the Greens are on two per cent, but they are only standing in a handful of seats.<\/p>\n
