Applications for two Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council (BBSRC) applicant\u2011led funding opportunities were paused while the council implemented behind\u2011the\u2011scenes changes to support this transition.<\/p>\n

These reopenings follow the earlier reopening of UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) applicant\u2011led funding opportunities.<\/p>\n
Always open funding opportunities<\/p>\n
Moving to \u2018always open\u2019 funding removes fixed deadlines, helping to smooth application demand and reviewer availability, while providing greater flexibility for applicants.<\/p>\n
Improved experience<\/p>\n
Dr Jef Grainger, BBSRC\u2019s Associate Director for Science Strategy, said:<\/p>\n
The move to an always open model is an important step in improving the experience of applicant\u2011led funding for the community.<\/p>\n
We\u2019re pleased that all paused schemes are now open again.<\/p>\n
