A 39-year-old man from Whitechapel has been charged with his murder\"Khalid<\/p>\n

A man stabbed to death outside a Shadwell caf\u00e9<\/a> last month has been formally named as Khalid Achchaq. He and a second man, aged in his 50s, were knifed in front of Caf\u00e9 Rosh on April 7.<\/p>\n

The emergency services responded to reports of an assault on Watney Street, adjacent to Watney Market, shortly after 4pm. Mr Achchaq, believed to be 37, was rushed to hospital in critical condition, where he later died.<\/p>\n

Hassan Lbane took himself to a police station in the Birmingham area three days later, the Metropolitan Police said in a previous statement. The 39-year-old, of Wodeham Gardens, in Whitechapel, has since been charged with murder<\/a> and grievous bodily harm.<\/p>\n

His arrest came after a major evidence search was launched at the crime scene<\/a>. Photos taken in Tower Hamlets show evidence markers surrounding metal chairs strewn across the blood-stained pavement<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Red-and-white tape also blocked off a section of pavement leading to the DLR entrance on Shadwell Place. Police continue to appeal for CCTV, Ring doorbell, dash cam and mobile phone footage that may have captured the fatal stabbing.<\/p>\n

The second victim sustained a minor arm injury in the altercation and was later discharged from hospital.<\/p>\n
