It means more time on the mat at the right level, more international competitions, more high-quality camps, and more opportunities for athletes like Evie Gormley to test themselves against the best in the world.

“That exposure is critical. It accelerates development, builds belief, and ultimately gives us a stronger platform to deliver medals on the biggest stages.”

The investment forms part of UK Sport’s wider ambition to maintain Great Britain’s position among the world’s leading Olympic and Paralympic nations, with funding aimed at supporting emerging medal opportunities, adapting to evolving qualification systems and strengthening athlete pathways.

British Judo remains committed to building on the progress made across recent Olympic and Paralympic cycles as the programme looks ahead to Los Angeles 2028 and beyond.

Watch out for further news from British Judo by checking out our latest news section. You can also catch up via our official social media platforms, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

May 07, 2026 British Judo has welcomed confirmation of additional investment from UK Sport as preparations continue for…

[4
13336,4871,13337,13338,10232,13339,5,6,13340
0":"post-30648","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-uk","8":"tag-la-2028","9":"tag-los-angeles","10":"tag-los-angeles-olympics","11":"tag-los-angeles-paralympics","12":"tag-olympics","13":"tag-paralympic","14":"tag-uk","15":"tag-united-kingdom","16":"tag-visually-impaired
["GET
