{"id":31309,"date":"2026-05-08T06:50:36","date_gmt":"2026-05-08T06:50:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/britain\/31309\/"},"modified":"2026-05-08T06:50:36","modified_gmt":"2026-05-08T06:50:36","slug":"local-elections-2026-all-the-london-results-so-far","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/britain\/31309\/","title":{"rendered":"Local elections 2026: All the London results so far"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/britain\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/newsletter_we_final_embed_desktop.png\" alt=\"WEST END FINAL\" width=\"158px\" height=\"158px\" class=\"sc-eEbqID ecGikU\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Millions of Londoners have voted to elect their councillors across the capital\u2019s 32 boroughs.<\/p>\n<p>Some 1,817 local authority seats council are up for grabs in the city, while residents of Croydon, Hackney, Lewisham, Newham and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.standard.co.uk\/topic\/tower-hamlets\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Tower Hamlets<\/a> also selected their mayors. <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.standard.co.uk\/topic\/labour\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Labour<\/a> is defending the most town halls, with the party winning 21 at the last local election in 2022 when in most boroughs it was a straight fight between two of the mainstream parties. <\/p>\n<p>Tower Hamlets has been run by the independent left-wing Aspire party for the last four years and Havering was under no overall control. <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.standard.co.uk\/topic\/reform-uk\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Reform UK<\/a>, which officially rebranded from the Brexit Party in January 2021, did not win any seats last time round. <\/p>\n<p>But Nigel Farage\u2019s party was hoping to make gains in Bromley, Bexley and Havering. <\/p>\n<p>London election results so far<\/p>\n<p>Richmond upon Thames (Total number of seats: 54) <\/p>\n<p>Winner: Liberal Democrats (hold)<\/p>\n<p>Sutton (Total number of seats: 55)<\/p>\n<p>Winner: Liberal Democrats (hold)<\/p>\n<p>Wandsworth (Total number of seats: 58)<\/p>\n<p>Winner: No Overall Control (Labour loss)<\/p>\n<p>Merton (Total number of seats: 57)<\/p>\n<p>Hammersmith &amp; Fulham (Total number of seats: 50)<\/p>\n<p>Ealing  (Total number of seats: 70)<\/p>\n<p>Westminster (Total number of seats: 54) <\/p>\n<p>Winner: Conservatives (gain from Labour)<\/p>\n<p>How Londoners voted in 2022<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Millions of Londoners have voted to elect their councillors across the capital\u2019s 32 boroughs.
