{"id":31315,"date":"2026-05-08T07:04:14","date_gmt":"2026-05-08T07:04:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/britain\/31315\/"},"modified":"2026-05-08T07:04:14","modified_gmt":"2026-05-08T07:04:14","slug":"yorkshire-local-elections-2026-live-updates-with-all-the-results-as-reform-make-huge-gains-elsewhere","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/britain\/31315\/","title":{"rendered":"Yorkshire local elections 2026 LIVE updates with all the results as Reform make huge gains elsewhere"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">Reform UK is ahead in England\u2019s local elections but has \u201cprobably not\u201d reached 30% of the vote, underlining \u201cthe fracturing of British politics\u201d, polling guru Sir John Curtice said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">Sir John told the BBC: \u201cIt may well be now that Labour lose rather less than the 1,500 seats that perhaps some people said was potentially the tipping point for attempts to unseat Keir Starmer.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">He said: \u201cThere is still a very long way to go and certainly what one has to say is this: the big picture is Reform are ahead.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">\u201cIt\u2019s clear that Reform are so far winning most votes in the elections that have been declared so far, in much the same way as they were in last year\u2019s council elections.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">\u201cAnd they are basically being trailed by four parties that are all of them just a little bit below 20% or so, somewhere between 15 and 20%, but are actually at the moment quite difficult to disentangle.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">He continued: \u201cBut none of the parties are very big, let\u2019s make that clear.
