The Aspire Party has officially held control of the Tower Hamlets council, securing a historic overall majority following the final count of the 2026 local elections. The sweeping victory cements the party’s dominance in the only London borough where it fields candidates, standing out amidst a broader political shift across the capital.<\/p>\n

Aspire demonstrated a commanding performance across the borough, successfully defending its control by sweeping several multi-seat wards. In Bethnal Green East, Bethnal Green West, Blackwall & Cubitt Town, Lansbury, Mile End, and Whitechapel, Aspire candidates decisively took all available seats. It comes as Lutfur Rahman of the Aspire party secured a decisive victory<\/a> with 38.75% of the vote, finishing more than 16,000 votes ahead of his closest rival.<\/p>\n The party also claimed victory in Canary Wharf<\/a>, where Maium Talukdar and Saied Ahmed were elected with 1,287 and 1,244 votes respectively.
