Police have made several more arrests in connection with a murder investigation in Moss Side<\/a>.<\/p>\n The probe was launched after a man in his 30s was stabbed on Raby Street<\/a> at around 11pm on Friday (May 8). The man, who has since been named by friends as musician Dre Brown, died a short time later in hospital.<\/p>\n Following the incident, an 18 year-old male was arrested on suspicion of murder. He remains in custody for questioning.<\/p>\n Click here<\/a> to get the biggest stories straight to your inbox in our Daily Newsletter<\/p>\n A 26-year-old woman was then arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.<\/a> In an update issued today (Monday, May 11) a spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police<\/a> confirmed another man, aged 24, has been arrested on suspicion of murder.<\/p>\n Two men, aged 25 and 38, have also been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender. All five suspects remain in custody to be quizzed by detectives from GMP’s Major Incident team.<\/p>\n Investigations remain ongoing on the scene on Raby Street. On Saturday, a forensic tent was erected within the police cordon on the street as forensic officers scoured the scene for evidence.<\/p>\n The victim, whose full first name was Adrian but he was known as Dre, was a musician, going by the name StanaMan. One friend said: “RIP, Dre. You will be sadly missed. Gone far too soon. You were such a kind soul and amazing father.”<\/p>\n Police are continuing to appeal for any witnesses, or anyone with footage of the incident, to come forward. Detective Chief Inspector Louise Edwards, from our Major Incident Team said: “We now have five people in custody following this tragic incident.<\/p>\n “These additional arrests mark a significant step in our investigation and show our continued commitment to securing justice for the victim and his family.
