A convicted robber has died in prison. Daniel See who was jailed alongside his brother Jamie and their friend Jamie Brooks in 2013 died while in police custody last month.<\/p>\n
The crime gang carried out raids at Morrisons supermarket in Speke<\/a> and a nearby grocery store in January that year. A 35 year-old supermarket worker was left bruised and shaken after the gang \u2013 who have a raft of criminal convictions between them \u2013 pushed her aside to grab \u00a3260 in notes from a till she had opened.<\/p>\n Hours later the gang targeted the Colin Sykes store in South Parade, where they targeted a 57-year-old till worker. They jumped on the counter to raid the till of \u00a3235 before fleeing, the ECHO reported at the time<\/a>.<\/p>\n At the sentencing the judge claimed the three showed not an “ounce of remorse” for two robberies, as they “sniggered” at Liverpool Crown Court when shown CCTV of the distressing incidents.<\/p>\n See, from Liverpool, had 46 previous convictions and was jailed for four years and two months.<\/p>\n He was later released but imprisoned again at HMP Wymott near Leyland, where he died on April 29, 2026, aged 34.<\/p>\n LancsLive reported <\/a>an inquest into See’s death was opened and adjourned at Preston Coroners’ Court on Monday May 11.<\/p>\n Area Coroner Kate Bisset said: “Mr See died whilst a serving prisoner at HMP Wymott; his death therefore requires an inquest.<\/p>\n “Because this gentleman died in custody there will be a Prisons and Probation Ombudsman investigation, a standard procedure for all deaths in custody.
