The office of the Mayor of London told POST Wrestling on Tuesday that no specific negotiations are underway to bring WWE\u2019s WrestleMania to the city in 2028, even as speculation about London as a potential host has persisted for almost three years, since John Cena pushed the idea before a London crowd in 2023.<\/p>\n
\u201cThere are general discussions with WWE, but at present no specific discussions around bringing the 2028 WrestleMania to London,\u201d Tom Degun of the Economic Desk with the Mayor of London\u2019s Press Office wrote to POST Wrestling by email. While WrestleMania in 2028 isn\u2019t being discussed, Degun told us earlier that Mayor Sadiq Khan is \u201cdetermined to bring even more sports from around the world to London, including the biggest WWE events, and continues to discuss future opportunities.\u201d<\/p>\n
Nashville appears to be the city furthest along<\/a> in actual talks with WWE for the 44th edition of WrestleMania, in 2028. The Nashville Convention and Visitors Corp. confirmed to POST Wrestling two weeks ago, when we asked directly about 2028 WrestleMania, that the organization is \u201cworking on a future date with [WWE].\u201d<\/p>\n A communications representative for the Nashville Mayor\u2019s Office told us Mayor Freddie O\u2019Connell\u2019s office \u201cis not directly involved\u201d in the effort to bring WrestleMania to Nashville.<\/p>\n A rep for the Nashville Sports Council declined to comment for this story. An inquiry sent to the Nashville Convention and Visitors Corp. on Tuesday morning was not immediately responded to, and we will update our reporting if we hear back.<\/p>\n WWE President Nick Khan recently hyped staff at a company-wide TKO meeting<\/a>, saying, \u201cwait until you hear the announcement on where we\u2019re going\u201d in 2028 for WrestleMania.<\/p>\n Ireland has also become part of the conversation<\/a>. Kilkenny councilor Maurice Shortall discussed the possibility of Ireland hosting a WrestleMania when speaking to the Irish Mirror last week. That report, however, described Shortall\u2019s efforts at that point as a \u201csuggestion\u201d to the local government.<\/p>\n Cena memorably called for London to host a WrestleMania at Money in the Bank 2023, which took place in the city. Then, in 2024, London Mayor Sadiq Khan<\/a> met with Nick Khan and Paul Levesque and openly discussed bringing WrestleMania to London.<\/p>\n
