Of the top 10 most commonly stolen cars in the region, reports were down compared with 2024 for all but one of them.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">That was Toyota, and suggests the brand is becoming a growing target for criminals. Thefts of the electric Toyota C-HR Dynamic HEV CVT have surged nationally.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">The Japanese manufacturer was second on the list overall behind Ford which remains the number one most nicked.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">The Ford Fiesta has been the UK&#8217;s most nicked car for years.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">Other top targets include BMW, Nissan, Mercedes and Land Rover, though thefts of all of these are down on previous years.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">There were 2,375 thefts of Fords recorded in the region in 2025, with the total down almost 20% on 12 months earlier.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">A total of 1,099 Toyotas were nicked, a rise of 7.6%.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">READ MORE: <a aria-label=\"\" class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.birminghammail.co.uk\/news\/midlands-news\/not-stratford-bromsgrove-best-place-33897514\" rel=\"follow nofollow noopener\" tabindex=\"0\" target=\"_self\">Not Stratford or Bromsgrove &#8211; best place to live in the Midlands named<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">Thefts recorded in the West Midlands in 2025<\/p>\n<p>Ford &#8211; 2,375 (down 19.4%)Toyota &#8211; 1,099 (up 7.6%)BMW &#8211; 781 (down 11.6%)Nissan &#8211; 753 (down 12%)Mercedes &#8211; 633 (down 29%)Land Rover &#8211; 483 (down 37%)Volkswagen &#8211; 445 (down 16%)Vauxhall &#8211; 437 (down 18.8%)Audi &#8211; 412 (down 31%)Jaguar &#8211; 283 (down 4%)<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">As a whole across the West Midlands, thefts are down 15.5% over the last two years.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\"><a aria-label=\"\" class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.birminghammail.co.uk\/all-about\/west-midlands-police\" rel=\"follow nofollow noopener\" tabindex=\"0\" target=\"\">West Midlands Police<\/a> and Crime Commissioner Simon Foster said: \u201cWhile there is still more work to do, I welcome this continued reduction in vehicle theft across the West Midlands, with offences falling by 15.5% over the past two years.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">\u201cThis progress reflects the determined action of West Midlands Police, working alongside partners and local communities, to tackle crime, target offenders and protect the public.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">\u201cHowever, we cannot be complacent.
