{"id":36195,"date":"2026-05-14T11:47:12","date_gmt":"2026-05-14T11:47:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/britain\/36195\/"},"modified":"2026-05-14T11:47:12","modified_gmt":"2026-05-14T11:47:12","slug":"kings-college-london-and-cranfield-announce-proposed-2027-merger","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/britain\/36195\/","title":{"rendered":"King\u2019s College London and Cranfield announce proposed 2027 merger"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The two universities have signed an agreement as the first step toward bringing the institutions together from August 2027, subject to regulatory approvals.<\/p>\n<p>Under the proposal, Cranfield University would become part of King\u2019s College London, combining Cranfield\u2019s specialist postgraduate expertise in engineering, applied research and industry partnerships with King\u2019s broader interdisciplinary scale and international reach.<\/p>\n<p>University leaders said the merger would strengthen UK capability across areas including aerospace, advanced manufacturing, AI and robotics, clean energy, environmental science, health and life sciences, and security and defence.<\/p>\n<p>The combined institution would also span campuses in London and the Oxford-Cambridge Growth Corridor, which the universities said would strengthen collaboration with industry, government and research partners.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe UK\u2019s universities are among our greatest strategic assets;
