Tragic new details have emerged following the death of Nottinghamshire footballer Tyler Fairman, who died in hospital after an alleged hit-and-run incident in Arnold.<\/p>\n
Mr Fairman, aged 26, was on an end-of-season night out with his teammates from Woodthorpe Park Rangers FC<\/a> when a red Vauxhall Astra mounted a kerb and crashed into a group of five people in the Market Place.<\/p>\n The 26-year-old was seriously injured in the incident – which took place in the early hours of Saturday, May 9 – and, despite the best efforts of medical staff, he was pronounced dead on Tuesday evening (May 12).<\/p>\n A fundraiser has since been launched to support Mr Fairman’s family following his passing, having amassed more than \u00a311,000 as of Thursday morning (May 14).<\/p>\n The page describes Mr Fairman as “not only a devoted partner, but also a loving father to his beautiful son”, adding that he and his partner were expecting a baby girl “very soon”.<\/p>\n The couple had been together eight years.<\/p>\n Some of the flowers left at the scene(Image: Nathan Woollard\/Nottingham Post)<\/p>\n A statement on the fundraiser read: “Laraya [Mr Fairman’s partner] is currently in the final stages of her pregnancy, facing a loss no one should ever have to endure.<\/p>\n “As well as being a dedicated NHS<\/a> healthcare worker, Laraya also runs her own beauty business, which she will now need to step away from.<\/p>\n “We want to ease any financial pressure she may face, allowing her to focus on herself, her healing, and her babies without added stress or worry.<\/p>\n “Any contribution will be massively appreciated and will all go towards supporting Laraya and her children during this incredibly painful and difficult time.”<\/p>\n The four other people involved in the crash suffered minor injuries, the police<\/a> said.<\/p>\n Woodthorpe Park Rangers confirmed one other team member and their manager were also among the victims.<\/p>\n Duane Anthony<\/a>, 40 and of Marton Road, Bulwell<\/a>, has been charged with five counts of attempted murder and other driving offences.<\/p>\n Following Mr Fairman’s death, Nottinghamshire Police confirmed a murder investigation had been launched.<\/p>\n Anthony appeared at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court on Monday, May 11, when he faced the families and friends of the victims as they attended the hearing in the public gallery.<\/p>\n He was remanded into custody and will next appear at Nottingham Crown Court on June 8.<\/p>\n![\"Some](\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/britain\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/0_IMG_9655.jpg\")
