Five weapons, including a shotgun, an assault rifle, a revolver and two rifles, were found during raids carried out across Liverpool and Sefton<\/a>. The firearms, which officers believe are all viable, were found stashed at one of the addresses searched this morning, Thursday May 14. Officers also seized a significant amount of cannabis and class A drugs during the operation.<\/p>\n Following the raids, ten people were arrested. A 35-year-old man from Knotty Ash was arrested on suspicion of possessing cannabis<\/a>, conspiring to produce cannabis, acquiring or possessing criminal property, and abstracting electricity without authority. A 37-year-old man from Walton<\/a> was arrested on suspicion of cultivating cannabis.<\/p>\n A second man, aged 39 and also from Walton, was arrested on suspicion of conspiring to produce cannabis and abstracting electricity without authority.<\/p>\n A 34-year-old man from Belle Vale was arrested on suspicion of conspiring to produce cannabis and abstracting electricity without authority.<\/p>\n A 55-year-old man from Aigburth<\/a> was arrested on suspicion of conspiring to produce cannabis and abstracting electricity without authority.<\/p>\n A 36-year-old man from Whiston was arrested on suspicion of cultivating cannabis and abstracting electricity without authority.<\/p>\n A 36-year-old woman from Liverpool was arrested on suspicion of conspiring to produce cannabis, abstracting electricity without authority, and possessing class A drugs including cocaine and MDMA.<\/p>\n A 41-year-old man from Southport<\/a> was arrested on suspicion of conspiring to produce cannabis and abstracting electricity without authority.<\/p>\n A 32-year-old man from Huyton<\/a> was arrested on suspicion of conspiring to produce cannabis and abstracting electricity without authority.<\/p>\n Another 37-year-old man from Walton was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the production of cannabis, being concerned in the supply of heroin, possessing cannabis, and abstracting electricity without authority.<\/p>\n Temporary Detective Superintendent Tony Roberts said: \u201cI hope the action taken today shows that we are determined to rid our streets of dangerous firearms and drugs that cause misery for local people in our communities.<\/p>\n \u201cEnforcement operations like the warrants carried out this morning illustrates that Merseyside Police will proactively tackle issues that matter most to our residents and keep our streets safe. This supports the work we do every day of the year to tackle those involved in serious organised crime.<\/p>\n \u201cToday\u2019s activity shows our complete and utter contempt for those involved in criminality, while at the same time giving the community the compassion, understanding and support they deserve.<\/p>\n \u201cWe all know too well the devastation that one firearm can cause in our communities, and we use all available powers to target and bring to justice those who supply, store, possess and use firearms.
