London<\/a> does brunch well, plain and simple. With so many spots to choose from, we at Time Out have done the legwork and compiled our latest picks for the best caf\u00e9s in London<\/a>\u00a0\u2013\u00a0and there\u2019s one that takes the crown, hands-down.\u00a0<\/p>\n

And the winner is\u2026 Oula<\/a> in Fitzrovia. Tucked away inside Ibraaz<\/a>, a six-storey cultural centre celebrating art in the form of music, film, exhibitions and food from the Middle East and North Africa,\u00a0Oula is the creation of French-Tunisian chef Boutheia Ben Salem<\/p>\n

Ben Salem\u00a0launched the caf\u00e9 as a self-described \u2018living archive of women\u2019s rituals and memory\u2019 that honours matriarchal culinary traditions. The service is warm and unhurried, and though the pink-hued womblike interior may sound striking, it\u2019s inviting, intimate and homely. The caf\u00e9 opened in October last year, yet it has the ease of an establishment that\u2019s been there for years.<\/p>\n

Oula\u2019s\u00a0menu goes far beyond your typical avo toast. Our best bite is the half-moon filo pastry that\u2019s \u2018fried to perfection and finished with a generous squeeze of lemon juice; our new favourite brunch.\u2019 The rest of the menu runs from kastrout (Tunisian-style stuffed baguettes with bread from Quince Bakery<\/a>) to dr\u00f4 gourmand, a sorghum porridge served with pumpkin seeds, coconut chips and pomegranate. It\u2019s the perfect spot to take your mum \u2013 or to simply treat yourself \u2013 out to a brunch that\u2019s genuinely special and rooted in tradition.\u00a0<\/p>\n
