Police are set to dig the garden of a former home of a missing <\/a>Fife teenager who vanished 27 years ago.<\/p>\n Kenneth Jones<\/a>, 18, was last seen in Glenrothes’ Ancrum Court on November 2, 1998. His family reported him missing two days later and have not heard from him since.<\/p>\n While significant efforts have been made to trace Kenneth, who would now be 46-years-old, he has never been found.<\/p>\n Later today the major Investigation team from Police Scotland will return <\/a>to Ancrum Court, Kenneth’s home address at the time of his disappearance, to carry out further investigations.<\/p>\n Officers from the nationwide forces will be assisted by experts after cops reopened the case into Kenneth’s disappearance in 2024.<\/p>\n A search was carried out at the address in February(Image: Fife Jammer Locations)<\/p>\n His mum Mary Ann Jones previously told the Record that the last time she saw her son was when he went to bed on the night of his disappearance at their family home – but the next morning he was gone<\/a>.<\/p>\n Mary Ann described how Kenneth took “no clothes and had no money” on the day he went missing<\/a> 27 years ago.<\/p>\n “It was just like he disappeared into thin air,” she said.<\/p>\n A similar search was held at the address <\/a>in February this year.<\/p>\n The age progression picture made up of Kenneth in 2016(Image: Police Scotland)<\/p>\n Detective Chief Inspector Jonathan Pleasance said: “We are returning to Ancrum Court <\/a>to carry out specific searches in the garden following our enquiries in February. We remain committed to establishing the full circumstances of what happened to Kenneth and will explore all possible opportunities, including modern technology, which could assist.<\/p>\n “The investigation continues <\/a>to review all available evidence and we are keeping an open mind. I would appeal to anyone who may have any information, no matter how small it may seem, to come forward.<\/p>\n “It’s essential we find out what happened to Kenneth to bring his family<\/a> some much needed closure.”<\/p>\n When reported missing in 1998, Kenneth was described as white, 6ft 2in tall, with short, dark-brown hair<\/a>.
