Two bodies have been found in separate coastal locations in Northern Ireland<\/a> on Sunday.<\/p>\n

The discoveries were made at popular tourist sites, one in Co Down<\/a> and the other in Co Antrim<\/a>.<\/p>\n

On Sunday morning, a body was found on Whiterocks Beach on the north coast.<\/p>\n

Following the discovery, the deputy mayor of Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council appealed for privacy for the family.<\/p>\n

In a social media post, Alliance<\/a> councillor Richard Brown Stewart said: \u201cI am deeply saddened to learn of the discovery of a body at White Rocks this morning.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy thoughts are with the family, friends and loved ones of the deceased at what will be an incredibly difficult and distressing time.<\/p>\n

\u201cI also want to pay tribute to the emergency services, and everyone involved in responding to the incident with professionalism, dignity and care.<\/p>\n

\u201cI would ask people to respect the family\u2019s privacy as investigations continue.\u201d<\/p>\n

A body was also found in Rostrevor, Co Down.<\/p>\n

PSNI<\/a> officers responded to a report of a body in the water in Kilbroney Park on the Shore Road at around 8.45am on Sunday.<\/p>\n

The death is not being treated as suspicious. <\/p>\n

A PSNI spokesperson said: \u201cA post-mortem examination will take place in due course,\u201d but added, \u201cthe death is not being treated as suspicious.\u201d<\/p>\n

MLA for South Down Diane Forsythe described it as incredibly sad news.<\/p>\n

Posting to social media, the DUP<\/a> representative said: \u201cIncredibly sad news from Kilbroney Park in Rostrevor this morning. <\/p>\n

\u201cMy thoughts and prayers are with the family friends of this man as well as with those who discovered him and the emergency services who attended. <\/p>\n
