The joint venture between ultra-rapid charging provider Fastned and Transport for London\u2019s property company Places for London has gained planning approval for one of London\u2019s largest ultra-rapid electric vehicle (EV) charging hubs in Ealing.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Opening in 2027, the\u00a0hub will be\u00a0powered by renewable energy and feature 36 bays that offer EV drivers the capability to charge up to 100 miles of range in just 5 minutes.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Located off the North Circular (A406) near Hanger Lane, a key London arterial road, it will also feature a retail space and restroom facilities.\u00a0Benches and a playground outside aims to create a community space for families and local residents during recharging.<\/p>\n
Fastned\u2019s signature yellow solar canopies will provide shelter in inclement weather, alongside lighting and CCTV to ensure safety on site.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The hub provides accessible charging for vehicles of all sizes, from cars and taxis to vans and smaller trucks, helping address the limited opportunities for private charging at homes or commercial depots due to London\u2019s space constraints, the companies added.<\/p>\n
It will also serve fleets from the nearby Park Royal industrial estate, one of London\u2019s largest areas of Strategic Industrial Land.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Fastned and Places for London (TfL\u2019s property company) will also offer work experience placements for local people, offering the chance to explore careers and develop skills in the industry.\u00a0The partnership also offers apprenticeships,\u00a0employment opportunities,\u00a0and community outreach.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis new, rapid charging\u00a0hub,\u00a0the largest\u00a0in\u00a0London,\u00a0will support hundreds of Londoners who have already made the transition to\u00a0electric\u00a0vehicles.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cThere are more than\u00a027,900\u00a0public electric vehicle charge points in London\u00a0\u2013 over\u00a0a third of the UK\u2019s total charging network \u2013 and,\u00a0working with\u00a0partners like Fastned,\u00a0we can\u00a0continue\u00a0to grow our network and support many more\u00a0Londoners\u00a0to\u00a0switch to\u00a0cleaner,\u00a0greener\u00a0vehicles.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
