Asda<\/a> has launched a \u00a35 premium meal deal<\/a> line across the UK<\/a>, which includes 17 new mains.<\/p>\n

The meals, which were rolled out on Monday, are part of the chain\u2019s \u201cExceptional\u201d range and include a chicken parmigiana, beef birria wrap, chicken caesar salad, and mozzarella and pesto pasta salad.<\/p>\n

For \u00a35, the new deal undercuts rival supermarket giants<\/a>, including Tesco<\/a> and Sainsbury\u2019s, who price their premium meal deals for up to \u00a36.<\/p>\n

The new range follows the launch of Asda\u2019s meal deals in September last year, when it began offering customers a main, snack and drink for \u00a33.74.<\/p>\n

For a standard meal deal, customers can choose from 132 mains, 336 snacks, and 222 drinks.<\/p>\n

The premium meal deal is offered at supermarkets across the country, including express stores, and is priced the same for members and non-members.<\/p>\n

Other items launched on Monday included a prosciutto cotto and milano salami focaccia sandwich, a steak and onion chutney sandwich, a New York deli sandwich, a chicken katsu dragon roll, a spicy prawn dragon roll, as well as YO! Sushi products.<\/p>\n

It is priced slightly lower than premium meal deals at other major supermarkets. A Tesco premium meal costs \u00a35.50 with a Clubcard \u00a35.50 and \u00a36 without. A premium meal deal at Sainsbury\u2019s costs \u00a35.50. <\/p>\n

At the Co-op, members pay \u00a35.50, while non-members pay \u00a36.<\/p>\n

Money-saving blogger Alasdair Baker, who runs The Penny Pincher blog, said shoppers could save a decent amount of money by opting for an Asda meal deal.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou’re saving 50p compared to Tesco Clubcard holders, and 50p to \u00a31 if you’re not a member elsewhere. That might not sound massive, but it adds up if you’re buying lunch regularly.<\/p>\n
