Another wave of layoffs<\/a> is set to impact Reckitt<\/a> Benckiser Group\u2019s workforce in New Jersey.\n<\/p>\n In a notice with the New Jersey Department of Labor & Workforce Development,<\/a> the multinational company said it expects to let go 57 employees by March 2027.\n<\/p>\n According to Reckitt, the reductions will occur at its new headquarters at the ON3 campus in Nutley.<\/a> Previously, the company\u2019s North American base was located at Latitude in Parsippany.<\/a><\/p>\n A spokesperson for Reckitt did not immediately respond to a request for comment.\n<\/p>\n As part of a restructuring campaign announced in July 2024<\/a>, Reckitt aims to reshape itself into a \u201csimpler, more effective organization with fewer management layers and reduced duplication.\u201d\u00a0Reckitt has not disclosed a cumulative figure for how many layoffs have occurred globally due to the strategy. Since kicking off the restructuring, the company has issued 252 pink slips<\/a> in New Jersey<\/a>.\n<\/p>\n U.K.-based Reckitt employs roughly 36,000 people worldwide<\/a> across its home country, the U.S., Europe and Asia.<\/p>\n Refocusing<\/p>\n After conducting a strategic review of its portfolio, Reckitt is moving away from its nutrition and essential home division to concentrate on core brands within the consumer health<\/a> and hygiene categories. The company recently sold a majority stake in its Essential Home business to a private equity firm in a deal worth $4.8 billion.<\/a> The unit\u2019s 75-plus brands includes Air Wick fresheners, Easy-Off oven cleaner, Calgon water softener and Resolve carpet cleaner.\n<\/p>\n According to the company, the business generated roughly $2.6 billion in net revenue and $637 million in operating profit last year \u2014 about 13% to 14% of the its total revenue.\n<\/p>\n With home care divested, Reckitt said it will prioritize the 11 remaining \u201cpowerbrands\u201d in consumer health and hygiene, including Mucinex, Strepsils, Gaviscon, Nurofen, Lysol, Dettol, Harpic, Finish, Vanish, Durex<\/a>\u00a0and Veet.\n<\/p>\n According to Reckitt, the overall strategy aims to reduce annual fixed costs from the current 22% to 19% by 2027.\n<\/p>\n
