{"id":45538,"date":"2026-05-22T11:05:09","date_gmt":"2026-05-22T11:05:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/britain\/45538\/"},"modified":"2026-05-22T11:05:09","modified_gmt":"2026-05-22T11:05:09","slug":"weeks-of-roadworks-on-busy-spalding-roads-in-500k-scheme-to-improve-towns-electricity-network","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/britain\/45538\/","title":{"rendered":"Weeks of roadworks on busy Spalding roads in \u00a3500k scheme to improve town\u2019s electricity network"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Weeks of roadworks have been announced as part of a \u00a3500,000 project to improve the town\u2019s electricity network.<\/p>\n<p>National Grid Electricity Distribution has warned of lane closures and temporary traffic lights on important roads in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lincsonline.co.uk\/spalding\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Spalding<\/a> including Pinchbeck Road, Kings Road and Winfrey Avenue, until July.<\/p>\n<p>The firm is carrying out a reinforcement scheme including a cable overlay, installing a new cable alongside the existing network to improve reliability and increase capacity across the area.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"rthmb\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml,%3Csvg xmlns=\" http:=\"\" viewbox=\"0 0 568 323\" alt=\"National Grid has announced weeks of roadworks in Spalding as it improves the town's electricity network PHOTO: SUPPLIED\" data-root=\"\/_media\/img\/\" data-path=\"OV3HNXG2WMGX3WS65C4Q.jpg\" data-ar=\"1.76\"\/><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/britain\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/OV3HNXG2WMGX3WS65C4Q.jpg\" alt=\"National Grid has announced weeks of roadworks in Spalding as it improves the town's electricity network PHOTO: SUPPLIED\"\/>National Grid has announced weeks of roadworks in Spalding as it improves the town&#8217;s electricity network PHOTO: SUPPLIED<\/p>\n<p>This comes a day after <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lincsonline.co.uk\/spalding\/news\/six-months-of-roadworks-to-install-new-foot-and-cycle-paths-9466904\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Lincolnshire County Council announced that it would be undertaking months of roadworks in Pinchbeck Road<\/a> as part of its \u00a31.8million Active Travel scheme to install new cycle and footpaths.<\/p>\n<p>A spokesperson for National Grid Electricity Distribution said this work will help ensure the network in Spalding can support local growth and keep electricity flowing reliably in the years ahead.<\/p>\n<p>He said: \u201cElectricity demand is increasing, and this investment will help ensure the network in Spalding is ready to support local homes and businesses now and in the future.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis work is being carefully delivered in sections to reduce disruption, where possible.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019d like to thank residents and businesses for their patience while this work is carried out.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>This work is due to be carried out phased sections, moving along each road as progress is made so only limited stretches of road will be affected at any one time.<\/p>\n<p>Planned works are:<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Lane closures and temporary lights in Pinchbeck Road from tomorrow (Saturday, May 23) to Saturday, July 4, for excavation works to install a new cable<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Temporary lights and lane closure in Kings Road from Friday, May 29, to Saturday, July 4 when the footpath will be dug up to install and connect new cable sections<\/p>\n<p>&#8211;
