Detectives investigating Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor<\/a> are also looking into claims of sexual misconduct with Jeffrey Epstein<\/a> links.<\/p>\n The disgraced former duke was arrested in February on suspicion of sharing confidential information with the convicted late sex offender Epstein during his time as the UK trade envoy.<\/p>\n Now officers are also reviewing a claim made by a woman that she was sent by Epstein to Andrew\u2019s home, the Royal Lodge, to have sex with him in 2010, followed by a tour of Buckingham Palace<\/a>. <\/p>\n She was in her 20s when the allegations are said to have happened, according to her lawyer, Brad Edwards, who first spoke to the BBC<\/a>. <\/p>\n \t\t \t\t\t\tSign up for all of the latest stories\t\t\t<\/p>\n Start your day informed with Metro’s News Updates<\/a> newsletter or get Breaking News<\/a> alerts the moment it happens. <\/p>\n Detectives are said to have been concerned that the public thinks they are only focusing on accusations that Andrew shared information while serving as a trade envoy. <\/p>\n A misconduct in public office investigation can include a range of conduct like wilful neglect of duty and sexual misconduct. <\/p>\n Andrew served as the UK\u2019s special representative for international trade and investment from 2001 until 2011. <\/p>\n He stepped down from the role following controversy over his friendship with Epstein. <\/p>\n \t\t Andrew has consistently denied any wrongdoing over his links to Epstein. <\/p>\n The former Prince Andrew was arrested on his birthday<\/a>, with police spotted at the Sandringham Estate and at his previous home, Windsor\u2019s Royal Lodge, before being released.<\/p>\n Thames Valley Police said: \u2018We have engaged with the woman\u2019s legal representative to confirm that, should she wish to report this to police, it will be taken seriously and handled with care, sensitivity and respect for her privacy and her right for anonymity.<\/p>\n \u2018We recognise how difficult it can be to speak about experiences of this nature, and any contact with police will be led by her wishes, when and if she feels ready and able to do so.\u2019 <\/p>\n Police have been sifting through information recovered during the searches in Windsor and Norfolk<\/a>, it is understood.<\/p>\n A formal request has also been made to the US Department of Justice (DOJ) to get the original versions of the Epstein files.<\/p>\n Thames Valley Police Assistant Chief Constable Oliver Wright said a team is working through a \u2018significant amount of information that has come in from the public and other sources.\u2019 <\/p>\n He encouraged anyone with information to get in touch with the force through non-urgent contact channels. <\/p>\n Got a story?
