Police are appealing for information after a pedestrian sustained life-changing injuries in a weekend collision in Co Down<\/a>. Officers attended the scene of a collision at Castlebawn Retail Park in Newtownards<\/a> at around 1.20pm on on Saturday, 23rd May., after a pedestrian was reported to have been struck by a blue Skoda Octavia. A white Vauxhall Astra parked nearby also sustained damage.<\/p>\n Colleagues from the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service<\/a> and Air Ambulance<\/a> attended and the pedestrian, a man aged in his 30s, was taken to hospital for treatment to a life-changing limb injury.<\/p>\n READ MORE: One person in hospital after Newtownards collision between car and pedestrian<\/a>READ MORE: PSNI step up anti-social behaviour beach patrols over Bank Holiday weekend<\/a><\/p>\n A NIAS spokesperson added: “The Northern Ireland Ambulance Service received a 999 call at 13:23 on Saturday, 23 May following reports of a road traffic incident involving a vehicle and a pedestrian in the Castlebawn Dive area of Newtownards.<\/p>\n “NIAS dispatched two Emergency Crews to the incident.
