Services have been suspended from Hackney Central after a huge blaze erupted on a nearby residential road.<\/p>\n
The fire at Cottrill Gardens in east London <\/a>sparked at around 6.10pm.<\/p>\n Pictures from the scene showed a large column of smoke and flames filling the sky.<\/p>\n Two cars, a static caravan and a grass embankment have been set alight.<\/p>\n The cause of the inferno remains unknown.<\/p>\n \t\t\t\tSign up for all of the latest stories\t\t\t<\/p>\n Start your day informed with Metro’s News Updates<\/a> newsletter or get Breaking News<\/a> alerts the moment it happens. <\/p>\n There are severe delays along the Mildmay Line, with no service between Stratford and Gospel Oak, while the Weaver Line is operating with delays.<\/p>\n Greater Anglia, London Overground and Stansted Express, from one of London\u2019s busiest stations, Liverpool Street, have also been disrupted.<\/p>\n Holidaymakers eager to trade this Bank holiday weekend\u2019s heatwave for sun abroad by flying from Stansted Airport have been warned to expect cancellations or delays.<\/p>\n This is also bad news for Arsenal fans trying to get home from Crystal Palace via Liverpool Street on the final day of the Premier League.<\/p>\n National Rail warned that disruption is expected to last until at least 9pm.<\/p>\n The railway operator said<\/a>: \u2018A fire next to the track at Hackney Downs means that all lines are disrupted. <\/p>\n \u2018As a result, trains running between London Liverpool Street and Seven Sisters\/Tottenham Hale may be cancelled or delayed by up to 20 minutes.\u2019<\/p>\n The fire brigade told Metro: \u2018Six fire engines and around 40 firefighters are tackling a fire on Cottrill Gardens in Hackney<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u2018A static caravan and two cars are alight, as well as part of a grass embankment.\u2019<\/p>\n \u2018\u2026The cause of the fire is not yet known.\u2019<\/p>\n Get in touch with our news team by emailing us at webnews@metro.co.uk<\/a>.<\/p>\n For more stories like this, check our news page<\/a>.<\/p>\n Arrow Arrow Arrow
