Every nation boasts its own culinary treasures, and Britain is certainly no exception. From fish and chips<\/a> to pie and mash, or the iconic Sunday roast, there’s plenty to savour.<\/p>\n One American man who now lives in the UK<\/a> has revealed three types of food he’d never come across before making the move – but now “can’t live without”. The man goes by yankeedoodleintheuk on TikTok, where he describes himself as “celebrating British culture, one mishap at a time”. He recently shared a video titled: “Three things I didn’t even know existed before I moved here.”<\/a><\/p>\n Starting the clip, he explained: “There’s three things<\/a> I didn’t even know existed before I moved to the UK<\/a>. Now, it’s something you probably won’t expect, but I love them and now I just can’t live without them.”<\/p>\n Discussing his first discovery, he mentioned stumbling upon the delicious treat while browsing his local shop. “I did a little sneaky peekie, a little recce, towards the clearance section, and I found a chocolate trifle,” he said. “Chocolate trifle? Yeah, I love a trifle.<\/p>\n “But before I even moved to the UK, if you asked me what a trifle was, I [would] have no idea. But now I know. I know everything about trifles. I’m a trifle expert.”<\/p>\n His second find emerged after further exploration of the clearance aisle. “I found an apple crumble,” he said. “When I first visited in 2014 I had my first apple crumble, had that first bite with lashings of custard, I was just – my hair blew back, my hair blew back. I was just ‘oh, this is my favourite pudding’. And ever since then I have to order it at every pub I go to.<\/p>\n “If it’s not that, then the sticky toffee pudding every time. STP baby.”<\/p>\n The third choice was perfectly in keeping with the time of year. “Got some hot cross buns,” he revealed. “So I’m just walking around the Co-op<\/a> with the trifle, the apple crumble, and the hot cross buns, just living my best life, right?<\/p>\n “Before I moved here I just thought it was a song that we sang in primary school or whatnot. But ever since, I mean, it’s something that you put in the toaster, right, and you take it out, you add some butter to it – oh, belissimo, gorgeous. And now it’s one of my favourite parts of Easter.”<\/p>\n Wrapping up, he said: “These three things are just – oh – they’ve impacted my life so much.”<\/p>\n Content cannot be displayed without consent<\/p>\n
