The man goes by yankeedoodleintheuk on TikTok, where he describes himself as “celebrating British culture, one mishap at a time”. He recently shared a video titled: “Three things I didn’t even know existed before I moved here.”

Starting the clip, he explained: “There’s three things I didn’t even know existed before I moved to the UK. Now, it’s something you probably won’t expect, but I love them and now I just can’t live without them.”

Discussing his first discovery, he mentioned stumbling upon the delicious treat while browsing his local shop. “I did a little sneaky peekie, a little recce, towards the clearance section, and I found a chocolate trifle,” he said. “Chocolate trifle? Yeah, I love a trifle.

“But before I even moved to the UK, if you asked me what a trifle was, I [would] have no idea. But now I know. I know everything about trifles. I’m a trifle expert.”

His second find emerged after further exploration of the clearance aisle. “I found an apple crumble,” he said. “When I first visited in 2014 I had my first apple crumble, had that first bite with lashings of custard, I was just – my hair blew back, my hair blew back. I was just ‘oh, this is my favourite pudding’. And ever since then I have to order it at every pub I go to.

“If it’s not that, then the sticky toffee pudding every time. STP baby.”

The third choice was perfectly in keeping with the time of year. “Got some hot cross buns,” he revealed. “So I’m just walking around the Co-op with the trifle, the apple crumble, and the hot cross buns, just living my best life, right?

“Before I moved here I just thought it was a song that we sang in primary school or whatnot. But ever since, I mean, it’s something that you put in the toaster, right, and you take it out, you add some butter to it – oh, belissimo, gorgeous. And now it’s one of my favourite parts of Easter.”

Wrapping up, he said: “These three things are just – oh – they’ve impacted my life so much.”

Content cannot be displayed without consent

Followers were quick to chip in with their own pudding recommendations in the comments, reports the Express.

One suggested: “Apple crumble is really good, but have you tried rhubarb crumble? Rhubarb is definitely an acquired taste, but I do love it, especially in a crumble with hot custard, delicious.”

Another chimed in: “Try the chocolate trifle with a tin of cherries (or cherry pie filling). It’s like black forest cake… No need to thank me, just enjoy it, because you will.” The man responded: “This is absolute madness and pure genius. I will never forget such a beautiful tip.”

Another person commented: “One thing we do well in Britain is puddings. I’m surprised that other countries don’t do hot cross buns. I’d always assumed they were universal Easter fayre… who knew they’re a British thing!”

[2
13,2806,468,1812,1398,2808,2807
0":"post-4865","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-britain","8":"tag-britain","9":"tag-chocolate","10":"tag-easter","11":"tag-food","12":"tag-food-and-drink","13":"tag-nom-nom-nom-viral","14":"tag-viral
["GET
