Standard Chartered has appointed its head of investor relations as its permanent new chief financial officer with immediate effect.<\/p>\n
Manus Costello will take over from interim finance lead Pete Burrill, who has been in the role since February following the abrupt exit of Diego De Giorgi.<\/p>\n
Costello joined the company in 2024 to lead its investor relations arm, after 25 years in equity research, including as a founding partner and global head of research at AllianceBernstein’s Autonomous research unit.<\/p>\n
“Since joining Standard Chartered two years ago, he has made a significant contribution to the group’s strategic positioning and engagement of stakeholders, while also bringing strong rigour and an entrepreneurial mindset to the role,” said chief executive Bill Winters.<\/p>\n
“This will further benefit Standard Chartered as we move forward into our next phase of growth and deliver on our medium-term financial objectives.”<\/p>\n
Standard Chartered also announced the appointment of Tanuj Kapilashrami as chief operating officer, effective immediately.<\/p>\n
Kapilashrami, who joined Standard Chartered in 2017 and the group management team in 2019, will provide oversight of strategy, group-wide transformation, and the delivery and resilience of corporate functions, the bank said.<\/p>\n
