{"id":51444,"date":"2026-05-29T05:47:12","date_gmt":"2026-05-29T05:47:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/britain\/51444\/"},"modified":"2026-05-29T05:47:12","modified_gmt":"2026-05-29T05:47:12","slug":"britains-seaside-price-hotspots-are-revealed-by-rightmove","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/britain\/51444\/","title":{"rendered":"Britain\u2019s seaside price hotspots are revealed by Rightmove\u00a0"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-200116 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/britain\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/Colleen-Babcock-Rightmove-1.jpg\" alt=\"Colleen Babcock Rightmove\" width=\"730\" height=\"455\"  \/><\/p>\n<p>Britain\u2019s seaside hotspots are bucking the national trend with double digit price growth, it has been revealed.<\/p>\n<p>Bootle in Merseyside tops the rankings with average asking prices up 11% year-on-year, according to the list compiled by Rightmove.<\/p>\n<p>It is followed by Crosby in Liverpool, and Penarth in South Glamorgan, which have both seen 9% growth during the same period.<\/p>\n<p>Welsh coastlines<\/p>\n<p>Other coastal locations seeing strong price growth include Llantwit\u00a0Major\u00a0in\u00a0South Glamorgan, up 8%, and\u00a0Llanelli,\u00a0in\u00a0Carmarthenshire, up 7%.<\/p>\n<p>This price growth compares to a national average\u00a0drop of 0.3% in asking prices during the past year.<\/p>\n<p>It highlights how some seaside locations are outpacing the national trend for price growth, according to Rightmove.<\/p>\n<p>Mary-Lou Press, President of NAEA Propertymark, says: \u201cCoastal living continues to attract buyers, particularly as many seaside locations still offer better value for money than larger cities and commuter hotspots.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat stands out in this data is that many of the fastest-growing seaside markets remain relatively affordable, especially in parts of the North West and Wales.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFor many buyers, these areas can offer a balance of lifestyle, space and value.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re continuing to see demand driven by flexible working and buyers reassessing where they want to live, but consumers should look beyond headline price growth and also consider factors such as transport links, local jobs, flood risk and ongoing housing costs.<\/p>\n<p>The fastest-growing seaside markets show that demand for coastal homes remains resilient, even as overall UK price growth stays more modest.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rightmove.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Rightmove<\/a> went on to confirm that the average price of property coming to market in May this year is \u00a3378,304.<\/p>\n<p>Colleen Babcock, Rightmove\u2019s property expert, says: \u201cThe fastest-growing seaside markets this year show that demand for coastal homes remains resilient, even as overall <a href=\"https:\/\/thenegotiator.co.uk\/news\/uk-housing-market-news\/asking-prices-rise-by-more-than-4000-in-a-month-says-rightmove\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">price growth across the UK<\/a> stays more modest.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhile some locations are seeing strong price increases, there are still\u00a0many\u00a0areas where living by the sea is more affordable, giving buyers a wider range of options depending on their budget.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re also seeing that homes priced realistically continue to attract interest, particularly in locations where price growth is being supported by\u00a0buyer\u00a0demand.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t<br clear=\"all\"\/><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Britain\u2019s seaside hotspots are bucking the national trend with double digit price growth, it has been revealed.
