Such is the proven value of SIP that is being rolled out across Diageo\u2019s global spirits portfolio.<\/p>\n
Developed initially from Diageo\u2019s position as the biggest distiller of Scotch Whisky, the technology has transformed spirit maturation into a data-driven, scalable and sustainable growth capability at the same time as preserving the traditional craft skills that are the cornerstone of quality spirits.<\/p>\n
The power of AI<\/p>\n
Powered by AI, the platform integrates cask-level data, predictive modelling and decision intelligence to optimise yield, allocation and long-term value across Diageo\u2019s global matured spirits portfolio.<\/p>\n
It was developed initially for Scotch, of which Diageo<\/a> has more than 10 million oak casks of spirit quietly ageing in 300 locations until ready for blending.<\/p>\n Each cask is given a QR code, to which data is derived and analysed throughout its life from first fill to retirement, with performance criteria such as rate of loss through evaporation being measured at every stage.<\/p>\n That generated is used in predictive modelling and decision intelligence to optimise yield, allocation and long-term value across Diageo\u2019s global matured spirits portfolio.<\/p>\n It can even point to which warehouse is best suited for the optimum maturing of spirit for a single malt whisky.<\/p>\n Improvements across Diageo portfolio<\/p>\n Diageo says: \u201cThrough enhanced visibility, improved capital allocation and more precise long-term planning, SIP has delivered measurable performance improvements across Diageo\u2019s maturation network.<\/p>\n \u201cThe platform has established a robust digital and data foundation that positions the company to unlock further value in the years ahead, enabling growth, protecting long-term asset value and strengthening financial performance\u201d.<\/p>\n Ewan Andrew, Diageo\u2019s president of global supply and procurement, said: \u201cThis is a standout example of Diageo innovation and a central pillar of our digital transformation, ensuring Diageo remains at the forefront of modern Scotch and spirits production.\u201d<\/p>\n Related news<\/p>\n \n \n
