<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/aerospaceglobalnews.com\/tag\/london-gatwick-airport\/\" type=\"post_tag\" id=\"1274\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">London Gatwick Airport <\/a>has welcomed its fifth new airline in less than two weeks as the West Sussex hub prepares for its busiest summer since the pandemic.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Starting on 1 April 2026, German airline <a href=\"https:\/\/aerospaceglobalnews.com\/tag\/condor\/\" type=\"post_tag\" id=\"3631\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Condor<\/a> is commencing flights from Gatwick to Frankfurt, with a three-times-per-day service between the two cities, using Airbus A320 or A321 aircraft.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCondor\u2019s arrival marks yet another exciting landmark in what has been a period of significant growth for the airport,\u201d said Jonny Macneal, head of aviation development at Gatwick.<\/p>\n<p>New airlines join the schedule at London Gatwick Airport<\/p>\n<p>Condor follows the recent arrival of <a href=\"https:\/\/aerospaceglobalnews.com\/tag\/jet2\/\" type=\"post_tag\" id=\"2846\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Jet2<\/a>, the UK\u2019s third largest airline, which will operate 29 routes from Gatwick this summer using six Airbus A321neo aircraft \u2013 five of which will be based at the airport while a sixth will overnight elsewhere and fly into the airport.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Jet2 destinations from Gatwick include Spain, T\u00fcrkiye, Portugal, Cyprus, Malta, Greece, Italy, Bulgaria and Croatia.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"2000\" height=\"901\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/britain\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/Jet2-.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-31390\"  \/>Photo: Jet2<\/p>\n<p>Jet2 said the move had created more than 300 jobs, including in-flight operations, engineering, cabin crew, customer service and ground handling roles.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, <a href=\"https:\/\/aerospaceglobalnews.com\/tag\/air-france\/\" type=\"post_tag\" id=\"2552\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Air France<\/a> has started a twice-daily service to Paris\u2013Charles de Gaulle using its Airbus A220 aircraft.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The relaunch is the first time Air France has operated from Gatwick since 1996.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/aerospaceglobalnews.com\/tag\/eurowings\/\" type=\"post_tag\" id=\"2212\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Eurowings<\/a> has also joined with a service to Cologne, which began at the end of March and will operate 13 times a week.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Airlines big and small launch from London\u2019s second hub<\/p>\n<p>Romanian carrier <a href=\"https:\/\/aerospaceglobalnews.com\/tag\/animawings\/\" type=\"post_tag\" id=\"8308\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">AnimaWings<\/a> has launched its first service from Gatwick, with flights to Bucharest Otopeni having begun on 22 March.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The route operates six times per week using Airbus A220-300 aircraft, with business, premium economy and economy seats available.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1280\" height=\"720\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/britain\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/Animawings_A220_YR-CHR.jpg\" summer.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>They include <a href=\"https:\/\/aerospaceglobalnews.com\/news\/airasia-x-london-gatwick-bahrain-hub\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">AirAsia X, which is launching a daily flight to Kuala Lumpur<\/a> with a stop in Bahrain.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Starting on 26 June 2026, the service will operate via the Gulf on Airbus A330 aircraft, connecting Gatwick with the Malaysian capital for the first time since 2012.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Kuala Lumpur will be the 15th destination in Asia served from London Gatwick.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-34966\"  \/>Photo:  zapper \/ stock.adobe.com<\/p>\n<p>Bo Lingam, group CEO of <a href=\"https:\/\/aerospaceglobalnews.com\/tag\/airasia-x\/\" type=\"post_tag\" id=\"6187\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">AirAsia X<\/a>, said: \u201cOur return to London marks a significant milestone for AirAsia X and we\u2019re excited to commence our operations at London Gatwick this June.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis new daily route will enable UK travellers to seamlessly and affordably connect to Bahrain, Asean and beyond through our extensive Fly-Thru connectivity spanning over 130 destinations worldwide.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Gatwick gains transatlantic route and additional frequencies to Europe <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/aerospaceglobalnews.com\/tag\/royal-air-maroc\/\" type=\"post_tag\" id=\"3616\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Royal Air Maroc<\/a> began serving Tetouan in Morocco twice weekly from 29 March, and Norwegian has added to the airport\u2019s ties to Denmark with a new service to Aalborg.<\/p>\n<p>On the transatlantic front, Air Transat will launch a new route to the Canadian capital, Ottawa, from 15 May.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"2400\" height=\"1600\" A321\" class=\"wp-image-29664\"  \/>Photo: Matthijs van Wageningen<\/p>\n<p>SWISS is also increasing the frequency of its Zurich service to twice-daily.<\/p>\n<p>Elsewhere, <a href=\"https:\/\/aerospaceglobalnews.com\/news\/air-arabia-sharjah-london-gatwick-launch-2026\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Air Arabia is launching a non-stop service<\/a> connecting Gatwick with Sharjah in the UAE.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>From the end of June, the low-cost carrier will operate the route twice a day using Airbus A321neo LR aircraft. It was delayed, having been announced in November 2025 with a start date of the end of March.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Chinese carriers continue to grow at Gatwick<\/p>\n<p>Beijing Capital Airlines is also due to launch a new route between Gatwick and Qingdao in East China\u2019s Shandong province.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1279\" height=\"853\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/britain\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/1280px-Capital_Airlines_Airbus_A330-200_B-8019_27468269928.jpg\" alt=\"Capital Airlines Airbus A330\" class=\"wp-image-35693\"  \/>Photo: BriYYZ \/ Wikimedia Commons<\/p>\n<p>Gatwick has seen strong demand from Chinese carriers as they benefit from Russian overflight permissions to reach East Asia on the shortest routes.<\/p>\n<p>And <a href=\"https:\/\/aerospaceglobalnews.com\/tag\/pegasus\/\" type=\"post_tag\" id=\"1129\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Pegasus<\/a> is all set to begin flying between Istanbul and Gatwick from 15 June.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Emirates fourth daily flight between Dubai and Gatwick using an Airbus A350 launched in February.
