A man in his 30s, named locally as Francie Connors, died in the collision with a tipper truck, while his young daughter was pronounced dead at hospital on Wednesday (April 1).<\/p>\n

His wife, named locally as Rita Connors, is fighting for her life and remains in a critical condition.<\/p>\n
The driver of the DAF tipper, a 29-year-old man from Kent, was arrested in connection with the crash and remains in custody.<\/p>\n
Paddy Doherty was among the many to pay tribute and shared a heartfelt video on social media urging people to keep the family in their thoughts.<\/p>\n
He said: \u201cPray that she pulls through it. She\u2019s still got three little boys, God bless them.<\/p>\n
\u201cWent for a drive, him and his wife and his baby, him and his baby\u2019s dead and they\u2019re fighting to save her life.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cSo sad, God bless,\u201d he wrote.<\/p>\n

Hundreds of people commented on social media to share their prayers, sympathy and well wishes with many writing: \u201cHealing prayers and love going out to you.\u201d<\/p>\n
One said: \u201cReally can\u2019t believe this, the most happiest little family, best mommy and daddy to their beautiful children, RIP our good friend and his beautiful little girl.\u201d<\/p>\n
The post continued: \u201cPlease everyone pray that Jesus gives her one chance, she has three beautiful little boys.<\/p>\n
\u201cEveryone pray like it\u2019s your own sister, I can\u2019t believe this.\u201d<\/p>\n
Hundreds of others have shared their condolences to the family.<\/p>\n

It comes after a huge emergency response to the collision in Boyle Way, East Peckham, shortly before 6.30pm yesterday (April 1).<\/p>\n
Police said a white DAF tipper truck was being driven on the southbound carriageway, between the junctions of Branbridges Road and Hale Street, when it was involved in the collision with the pony and trap travelling in the same direction.<\/p>\n
The pony also died at the scene.<\/p>\n
Anyone who saw the truck or pony and trap prior to the collision, is urged to contact the appeal line.<\/p>\n
