Energy leaders gathered in York to discuss a more sustainable future for Great Britain.<\/p>\n
The National Energy System Operator (NESO) hosted its first North-East and Yorkshire Forum in York, bringing together industry experts, local government representatives, and community representatives to explore pathways toward a more affordable, secure, and sustainable energy system.<\/p>\n
Discussions focused on the economic potential of transforming the energy system, including creating local jobs and economic growth, as well as NESO\u2019s role as Great Britain\u2019s independent Strategic Energy Planner.<\/p>\n
Laura Lotinga, director of corporate affairs at NESO, said: “As NESO develops our strategic energy planning, it is important that we work together with local industries and communities across Great Britain so we create an energy system which works for all.<\/p>\n
“I was delighted to be in York to hear from a wide range of local stakeholders and energy experts from the North-East and Yorkshire about the challenges and opportunities they face.”<\/p>\n
