Paul McCartney<\/a> has announced a special live event in London, where he\u2019ll discuss his new album \u2018The Boys Of Dungeon Lane\u2019<\/a>. Find all the details below.<\/p>\n

The former Beatle<\/a> will appear in front of an audience at the Roundhouse in Camden Town next Wednesday (June 10).<\/p>\n

He\u2019ll speak about the journey behind the creation of his latest solo record, and reflect on the making of the LP from its earliest beginnings.<\/p>\n

McCartney is set to share stories and insights from his first meeting with producer Andrew Watt in 2021, through to the recording process, and duetting with former bandmate Ringo Starr<\/a> for the first time. The legendary musician will also talk about artwork development and the album\u2019s release.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe audience will gain a rare, first-hand perspective on how \u2018The Boys Of Dungeon Lane\u2019 came to life, and hear the new music played amongst Paul\u2019s stories,\u201d a press release notes.<\/p>\n

NME gave \u2018The Boys Of Dungeon Lane\u2019 a four-star review<\/a>, describing the collection as \u201ca guided tour of the long and winding road\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cElsewhere, against all odds, given that this album arrives some 63 years after the Beatles\u2019 debut \u2018Please Please Me\u2019, Macca actually makes history on \u2018The Boys Of Dungeon Lane\u2019,\u201d it adds.<\/p>\n

\u201cRemarkably, the jaunty \u2018Home To Us\u2019 is his first-ever duet with Ringo Starr, who assists him in celebrating their rough-and-tumble hometown. \u2018Days We Left Behind\u2019, though, is the album\u2019s real tear-jerker, as Paul nods to the \u201csecret code\u201d he shared with John Lennon but will never reveal<\/p>\n

\u201cStill, despite the absence of any real bombshells, it\u2019s a pleasure to accompany McCartney as he gets back to where he once belonged.\u201d<\/p>\n

Speaking to NME recently, McCartney looked\u00a0<\/a>both forward and back on his extraordinary career<\/a>, shared his\u00a0\u201cexcitement\u201d at contributing to the new Rolling Stones album<\/a>, and also\u00a0revealed whether<\/a>\u00a0he has plans to retire<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t know. I never know, y\u2019know?\u201d the 83-year-old icon said, recalling how his manager asked him the same question when he was 50.<\/p>\n

He then added that he still wants to perform live as he is aware that there are very few opportunities for fans to hear the music from his era in person, and said that his love of songwriting hasn\u2019t diminished over the years.<\/p>\n

\u201cCreative satisfaction is just writing a song \u2013 it\u2019s still the same old satisfaction that it was,\u201d McCartney told NME. \u201cThere\u2019s something magical about it, and I often think, \u2018I never set out to be a singer-songwriter person.\u2019 When I was at school, I thought the only thing left for me would be a teacher, because I didn\u2019t have massive qualifications and unfortunately, that mean[t] you have to be a teacher.\u201d<\/p>\n

He continued: \u201cBut I got in the band, and it just led me to this. So, the satisfaction is just being able to write a song and, if you pull it off, that\u2019s the same satisfaction that it always was. Some of them you pull off better than others, but it\u2019s still a great thing.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u2018The Boys Of Dungeon Lane\u2019 was released last Friday (May 29), marking Macca\u2019s first solo album since 2020\u2019s \u2018McCartney III\u2019<\/a>. The 14-track project sees the artist reflect on his childhood in Liverpool, his parents\u2019 resilience, early adventures shared with George Harrison<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0John Lennon<\/a>\u00a0before they found fame with\u00a0The Beatles, and more.<\/p>\n
