{"id":56033,"date":"2026-06-04T11:46:39","date_gmt":"2026-06-04T11:46:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/britain\/56033\/"},"modified":"2026-06-04T11:46:39","modified_gmt":"2026-06-04T11:46:39","slug":"diageo-subsidiary-usl-announces-divesture-in-rcb-march-25-2026","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/britain\/56033\/","title":{"rendered":"Diageo Subsidiary USL Announces Divesture in RCB March 25, 2026"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Diageo subsidiary United Spirits Limited announces full divesture of its stake in Royal Challengers Sports Pvt Ltd\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Diageo plc subsidiary, United Spirits Limited (USL), has announced it has entered into definitive agreements for the sale of its 100% equity stake in Royal Challengers Sports Private Limited (RCSPL) to a consortium comprising Aditya Birla Group (\u201cABG\u201d), The Times of India Group (\u201cTimes\u201d), Bolt Ventures (\u201cBolt\u201d), and Blackstone\u2019s perpetual private equity strategy, BXPE (\u201cBlackstone\u201d) for a total consideration of\u00a0INR 166.6 billion.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>RCSPL owns and\u00a0operates\u00a0the Royal Challengers Bengaluru franchises that\u00a0participate\u00a0in the Indian Premier League (IPL) and Women\u2019s Premier League (WPL). Upon completion of this transaction, the acquiring consortium will, through its ownership of RCSPL,\u00a0acquire\u00a0the rights to own and\u00a0operate\u00a0the IPL and the WPL franchises.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>This announcement concludes the strategic review of RCSPL initiated by USL, as\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bseindia.com\/xml-data\/corpfiling\/AttachHis\/2735940f-7be5-4ea1-8c49-2a240975b3b5.pdf\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">announced on 5 November 2025<\/a>.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The transaction is subject to satisfaction of customary closing conditions and legal,\u00a0regulatory\u00a0and other approvals, including from the Board of Control for Cricket in India and the Competition Commission of India.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Further details of the transaction can be found\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bseindia.com\/xml-data\/corpfiling\/AttachLive\/f299b7e9-9f47-4a68-babf-b0c75fafa933.pdf\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>USL was represented by Citigroup as its lead financial advisor, while AZB &amp; Partners served as legal counsel.
