A murder investigation has been launched following the death of a man in Silvertown.<\/p>\n
Police were called at around 09:00hrs on Friday, 5 June to reports that a man had been stabbed in Pankhurst Avenue, E16.<\/p>\n
Officers attended with the London Ambulance Service and found a 35-year-old man with stab wounds in the garden of a property on nearby Rayleigh Road.<\/p>\n
Despite the efforts of paramedics, he was sadly pronounced dead on his arrival at hospital. His next-of-kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.<\/p>\n
Two men, aged 27 and 24, and a 25-year-old woman were arrested near the scene on suspicion of murder. They remain in police custody.<\/p>\n
Another man, in his 20s, was taken to hospital with multiple stab wounds. He remains in hospital, where his condition is not believed to be life-threatening.<\/p>\n
Homicide detectives from the Met\u2019s Specialist Crime Command have launched a murder investigation.<\/p>\n
Detective Chief Inspector Joanna Yorke, who is leading the investigation, said:<\/p>\n
\u201cMy thoughts remain with the family and loved ones of the man who has died.<\/p>\n
\u201cI know that the community will be understandably concerned by the incident. There remains a large police presence in the area, and I would urge anyone with concerns to speak with officers at the scene.<\/p>\n
\u201cThree people have been arrested in connection with the stabbing and our enquiries are continuing at pace. I would ask anyone with information or CCTV footage that could assist our investigation to get in touch with police.\u201d<\/p>\n
