Weather maps by WXCharts show a 21C scorcher is set to hit parts of southern England within days, with the rest of the country also staying mostly above 14C. The forecast indicates that by April 8, a plume of warm air will push across the south, bringing highs of around 20-21C to areas including West Sussex, Surrey, Hampshire, Berkshire, Wiltshire, Dorset, Somerset and Devon. The mild conditions are likely to deliver a taste of early summer, with clear skies and prolonged sunshine expected across much of the region.

Parts of South-west Wales are also set to enjoy warmer weather, with temperatures reaching around 19C. Much of the rest of England will see slightly cooler, but still pleasant and dry, conditions, with highs generally between 17C and 18C. Further north, Scotland will experience more modest temperatures, with most areas expected to see highs between 13C and 16C. While still mild for the time of year, conditions will feel noticeably cooler compared to the South.

However, the settled and warm spell is not expected to last too long, which is not surprising for April’s foolish weather. By April 10, weather charts show a significant shift as a band of rain moves in from the Atlantic. This system is likely to bring widespread wet conditions across much of the UK, marking a sharp return to more unsettled weather.

In Scotland, the colder air accompanying the rain could even lead to wintry conditions in places, with some areas at risk of snowfall, especially on higher ground.

The brief warm spell is therefore expected to be short-lived, with forecasters urging Britons to make the most of the sunshine before conditions turn wetter and more changeable later in the week.

Similarly to WXCharts, the Met Office’s long-range weather forecast for April 8 – April 17 predicts: “Rather changeable conditions are expected through this period, as Atlantic frontal systems track eastwards across the UK, accompanied by some strong winds at times.

“These will bring occasional spells of rain or showers, heaviest and most frequent in the west and northwest, with longer drier interludes likely in the south and sheltered eastern areas.

“Whilst temperatures will be close to average for the period as a whole, there may be opportunities for some short-lived warm spells in the south and east.

“Conversely, occasional colder interludes in the northwest will bring the chance of some wintry showers, especially to hills, and overnight frost.”

Despite the colder Easter weekend, Brits can look forward to a short treat of warm weather shortly after.…

[4
3167,3170,468,173,3166,257,3168,5,6,1628,3169
0":"post-5729","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-uk","8":"tag-21c-scorcher","9":"tag-april-weather-forecast","10":"tag-easter","11":"tag-england","12":"tag-hot-weather","13":"tag-met-office","14":"tag-southern-england","15":"tag-uk","16":"tag-united-kingdom","17":"tag-weather-maps","18":"tag-wxcharts
["GET
