Police are seeking witnesses following reports two teenage girls were sexually assaulted during a late-night attack in Nottingham city centre.<\/p>\n

Nottinghamshire Police<\/a> said the incidents were reported to have happened at around 11pm on Thursday, June 4.<\/p>\n

A cordon was set up in Norfolk Place with the sexual assaults believed to have happened in the Old Market Square area in Nottingham city centre<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The teens are now being supported by specialist officers, as detectives continue to work with them to investigate the reports, the force said in a statement.<\/p>\n

Detective Inspector Beth Sheard, of Nottinghamshire Police’s Public Protection unit, has made an appeal to the public following the incident. Anyone with information is being urged to get in touch with the force to help the investigation.<\/p>\n

She said: \u201cWe know that these incidents are very concerning and I would like to reassure the victims and the wider public that we are doing everything we can to investigate these reports.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur investigation is now underway and I urge anyone who has any information to call Nottinghamshire Police immediately.\u201d<\/p>\n

The statement from the force read: “Detectives have launched an investigation following reports two teenage girls were sexually assaulted overnight.<\/p>\n

“The incidents are believed to have happened at around 11pm yesterday (Thursday 4 June) in the Old Market Square area in Nottingham city centre. A cordon is in place in Norfolk Place while investigations continue.<\/p>\n
