Lloyds Banking Group has announced plans to close another 79 branches over the coming year.<\/p>\n

The latest round of closures will impact 31 Lloyds Bank branches and 48 Halifax sites. It comes on top of the 95 branch closures the banking giant had already announced earlier this year<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Lloyds Banking Group will be left with 531 branches nationwide after these latest closures have concluded.<\/p>\n

The north-west and south-east of England are set to be amongst the worst-affected areas, with 12 branches in each region marked for closure. A further 10 branches in London will also shut their doors.<\/p>\n

The banking group said more than three-quarters of the branches due to close are situated within one mile of another Lloyds Banking Group site, while 95% have an alternative branch within five miles.<\/p>\n

A Lloyds Banking Group spokesman said: “With access to one of the biggest branch networks in the UK, alongside local banking options like our Community Bankers, the Post Office, PayPoint, plus our leading apps<\/a> and 24\/7 messaging service, we offer our customers more choice and convenience than ever before.”<\/p>\n
