A man was spotted on the roof of Evans’s Hotel in the seaside resort and there was a heavy police presence in the area<\/p>\n

A man has been “detained” by police following a rooftop stand-off at a Llandudno hotel. Police and firefighters were called to Evans’s Hotel in the seaside resort at around lunchtime on Tuesday after a man climbed onto the roof of the property.<\/p>\n

Multiple police vehicles were at the scene, with a fire engine also called in to assist.<\/p>\n

Images from the scene showed a man stood on the roof of the building on the junction for Charlton Street and Vaughan Street. Officers were seen speaking to the male.<\/p>\n

Charlton Street was taped off by officers.<\/p>\n

In an initial statement, police said: “Following a police incident, Charlton Street and Vaughan Street in Llandudno is currently closed. Please avoid the area, thank you.”<\/p>\n

At around 3pm, police confirmed the incident was over. A spokesperson said: “Following an incident in Llandudno, Charlton Street and Vaughan Street are now open.<\/p>\n

“One man has been detained. Thank you for your patience whilst we brought this incident to a safe conclusion.”<\/p>\n

North Wales Police have confirmed a man has now been “detained”.<\/p>\n

A spokesperson said:<\/p>\n

Following an incident in Llandudno, Charlton Street and Vaughan Street are now open.”One man has been detained. Thank you for your patience whilst we brought this incident to a safe conclusion .”<\/p>\n

Witnesses have said there is some traffic disruption within the town centre as a result of the rooftop incident.<\/p>\n

Good afternoon. A road in Llandudno has been taped off after a man climbed onto the roof of a hotel. The incident has taken place at Evans’s Hotel on the junction for Charlton Street and Vaughan Street.<\/p>\n
