Tom Morello<\/a> has postponed his scheduled live shows in London and Paris this week.<\/p>\n

The soloist and Rage Against The Machine<\/a> guitarist had been set to perform at Electric Brixton last night (Monday June 15), following his slot at Download 2026<\/a> the previous day (Sunday June 14).<\/p>\n

However, Morello took to social media yesterday to confirm that the gig in the capital would not be going ahead \u2013 just hours before he was due on stage.<\/p>\n

He also postponed his planned concert at Paris\u2019 Bataclan tonight (Tuesday June 16).<\/p>\n

\u201cDue to a family medical emergency I am so sorry to announce that I will have to postpone my London & Paris shows,\u201d the musician wrote on Instagram Stories<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cI have so much love and respect for all our friends & fans there and hope to rebook these shows as soon as possible. Thank you for your understanding.\u201d<\/p>\n

Details of the new dates for the impacted gigs have not yet been revealed.<\/p>\n

Morello is still scheduled to appear at three European festivals this week: Belgium\u2019s Graspop Metal Meeting (June 18), France\u2019s Hellfest (June 20), and the Netherlands\u2019 Pinkpop<\/a> (June 21).<\/p>\n

Other summer performances include Tons Of Rock in Norway and BBK Legends Bilbao in Spain.<\/p>\n

In other news, Morello used his set at Download 2026 last weekend to send a message to the British far-right activist Tommy Robinson<\/a>. The guitarist also recently teamed up with Serj Tankian and the former\u2019s son, Roman, on a powerful new single titled \u2018Adjourn It\u2019<\/a>.<\/p>\n

His collaboration with the System Of A Down<\/a> frontman followed\u00a0Morello announcing his new Power To The People festival<\/a>\u00a0\u2013 the line-up for which boasts Tankian, along with the likes of\u00a0Bruce Springsteen<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Foo Fighters<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Morello toured with Springsteen on the legendary artist\u2019s \u2018Land Of Hope And Dreams\u2019 US tour<\/a> this year. The Boss released a live video of his cover of\u00a0Prince\u2018s \u2018Purple Rain\u2019 featuring Morello<\/a>, filmed at\u00a0a gig in Minneapolis<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Speaking to\u00a0NME in 2024<\/a>, Morello discussed the power of music to spark political change, and revealed his all-time favourite protest songs.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe first thing that makes a great protest song is that it\u2019s a great song,\u201d he told us. \u201cNobody wants to hear a college lecture with a beat to it, there has to be an artistry there and an authenticity and a power and a chemistry behind it. All of those songs have that.\u201d<\/p>\n
