A customer <a aria-label=\"\" class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.mirror.co.uk\/all-about\/lloyds-bank\" rel=\"follow nofollow noopener\" tabindex=\"0\" target=\"\">approached the bank for help<\/a> as they were confused about a message they had received concerning their finances.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh\" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">The individual questioned: &#8220;Why do you keep sending me emails about my (excellent) credit score? What does it achieve? Do you want me to spend more money or something?&#8221; The dissatisfied customer added that the messages were &#8220;getting quite tiresome&#8221;. <a aria-label=\"\" class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.mirror.co.uk\/all-about\/lloyds-bank\" rel=\"follow nofollow noopener\" tabindex=\"0\" target=\"\">Lloyds<\/a> replied to explain the purpose behind these communications. The group said: &#8220;Those emails are meant to keep you informed about your credit health and flag anything unusual, rather than encourage extra spending.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Better rates<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh\" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">Lloyds also told the customer: &#8220;A good score can help you access better rates when you do need credit, but there&#8217;s no expectation to take anything out.&#8221; There is further guidance about credit scores <a aria-label=\"\" class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.lloydsbank.com\/understanding-credit\/what-is-a-credit-score-how-does-a-credit-score-work.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" tabindex=\"0\" target=\"\">on the Lloyds website<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>State Pensioners to face major tax change<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh\" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">The information page says: &#8220;When you apply for credit, lenders and service providers check your credit record as part of their decision-making process. Depending on the type of borrowing, if you have a good credit score, you&#8217;re more likely to be offered better interest rates and higher credit limits.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh\" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">This follows the Lloyds Banking Group issuing a &#8216;speak to us today&#8217; message to its customers. Did you know? You can use Lloyds branches to manage your Halifax account. Speak to us today.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh\" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">Both Lloyds Bank and Halifax are part of the Lloyds Banking Group, along with Bank of Scotland. The banking group was approached for a comment regarding the signage.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh\" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">A spokesperson for Lloyds Banking Group said: &#8220;We&#8217;re always looking for ways to make banking easier and more flexible for our customers.
