{"id":72371,"date":"2026-06-29T03:21:14","date_gmt":"2026-06-29T03:21:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/britain\/72371\/"},"modified":"2026-06-29T03:21:14","modified_gmt":"2026-06-29T03:21:14","slug":"princess-kate-climbs-uks-highest-peaks-for-cancer-charity","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/britain\/72371\/","title":{"rendered":"Princess Kate climbs UK\u2019s highest peaks for cancer charity"},"content":{"rendered":"<p datatype=\"p\" data-qa=\"Component-Component\" class=\"e8zc9q40 css-1c6uqr6 ec74h0k1\">\u2060Kate, the Princess of \u2060Wales, said on Sunday that she had \u2060scaled the three highest peaks in the UK in 24 hours to raise money for a cancer charity, citing it as a personal achievement following her own battle with the disease.<\/p>\n<p datatype=\"p\" data-qa=\"Component-Component\" class=\"e8zc9q40 css-1c6uqr6 ec74h0k1\">Kate, 44, the wife of heir to the throne Prince William, is in remission after \u200cundergoing chemotherapy for an undisclosed form of cancer and, while she has returned to royal duties, she has spoken of the toll the illness has taken on her and her family.<\/p>\n<p datatype=\"p\" data-qa=\"Component-Component\" class=\"e8zc9q40 css-1c6uqr6 ec74h0k1\">In a post on her official social media channels, Kate said this weekend that she had completed the \u201cNational Three Peaks Challenge\u201d \u2013 climbing Scafell Pike, Ben Nevis, and Snowdon, the highest mountains in England, \u2060Scotland and Wales \u2013 in a 24-hour period.<\/p>\n<p datatype=\"p\" data-qa=\"Component-Component\" class=\"e8zc9q40 css-1c6uqr6 ec74h0k1\">At the end of the event, which she completed solo supported en \u200croute by Mountain Rescue, she was greeted by her husband and their three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, along with her parents and \u200cbrother.<\/p>\n<p datatype=\"p\" data-qa=\"Component-Component\" class=\"e8zc9q40 css-1c6uqr6 ec74h0k1\">She said the aim was to raise the importance of holistic care and raise \u2060funds for The Royal \u2060Marsden Cancer Charity, which supports work at the hospital where she underwent months of treatment.<\/p>\n<p datatype=\"p\" data-qa=\"Component-Component\" class=\"e8zc9q40 css-1c6uqr6 ec74h0k1\">\u201cLots of people have asked me why \u200cI\u2019m doing this challenge and partly it\u2019s personal.
