{"id":74136,"date":"2026-07-01T12:12:14","date_gmt":"2026-07-01T12:12:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/britain\/74136\/"},"modified":"2026-07-01T12:12:14","modified_gmt":"2026-07-01T12:12:14","slug":"standard-chartered-granted-mica-licence-to-provide-eu-crypto","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/britain\/74136\/","title":{"rendered":"Standard Chartered granted MiCA licence to provide EU crypto"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>By Stephen O\u2019Reilly<\/p>\n<p class=\"has-drop-cap\">Standard Chartered has secured MiCA and EMI licences from Luxembourg\u2019s financial regulator, the British bank announced on Monday.<\/p>\n<p>In a statement, the bank said that it had been granted authorisation to provide crypto and digital asset custody services under the EU\u2019s Markets in Crypto Assets Regulation (MiCA). Standard Chartered also confirmed that it had received authorisation to operate as an Electronic Money Institution (EMI).<\/p>\n<p>The licences will provide the London headquartered bank a regulated entry point to offer digital asset services from Luxembourg.
