Activists are processing past Trafalgar Square and down Whitehall as part of the Pride in London march.<\/p>\n

Spectators cheered as floats full of people dancing and speakers playing music drove through central London.<\/p>\n

Many people watching the parade were wearing rainbow colours and carried Pride flags amid chants of \u201cHappy Pride\u201d.<\/p>\n

Companies that have sponsored floats at the parade include Lidl, Tesco and Ikea, with the Swedish furniture brand\u2019s float carrying the message: \u201cLove doesn\u2019t require instructions\u201d.<\/p>\n

London-based football teams including Arsenal, West Ham and Crystal Palace also had floats in the parade.<\/p>\n

<\/a>LGBTQ+ activist accuses Fifa of ‘doing nothing’ about countries banning gay footballers at World Cup<\/p>\n

Activist Peter Tatchell has said Fifa is \u201cdoing nothing\u201d about 11 countries banning gay footballers at the World Cup.<\/p>\n

Mr Tatchell was among those at the front of the Pride in London march and carried a banner which said: \u201cWorld Cup \u2013 11 countries ban gay footballers \u2013 shame!\u201d<\/p>\n

The activist said: \u201cWe\u2019re marching in London Pride today to highlight the fact that at the World Cup, which is ongoing right now, 11 countries ban gay footballers from their team \u2013 that\u2019s against Fifa rules, but Fifa is doing nothing.\u201d<\/p>\n

Speaking at the front of the march, he added: \u201cThis year\u2019s Pride is as important as ever.<\/p>\n

\u201cParticularly now that Reform councils across the country are banning Pride flags \u2026 wanting to remove books from shelves.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat is very dangerous, very threatening to all of us.\u201d<\/p>\n

<\/a>Mexican Embassy representatives take part in London Pride<\/p>\n

The Mexican Embassy has taken part in the Pride in London parade with a colourful banner and display.<\/p>\n

The embassy said on social media: \u201cThe Embassy of Mexico in the United Kingdom participated in this celebration recognizing diversity, inclusion, and equality, reaffirming our country’s commitment to defending the human rights of LGBTIQ+ individuals.<\/p>\n

\u201cMexico marches with pride, facing the world and true to who we are: a diverse, pluralistic nation committed to building fairer and more inclusive societies.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe continue to celebrate pride as an expression of freedom, dignity, and the right of all people to be who they are.\u201d<\/p>\n

The display of solidarity comes ahead of the England and Mexico World Cup fixture on Monday at 1am.<\/p>\n

Pride in London 2026 will focus heavily on four critical issues: trans healthcare rights, Black and Brown queer visibility, chosen family rights, and ending hate crime. <\/p>\n

It also marks the beginning of London’s official bid to host WorldPride 2032.<\/p>\n
