{"id":76770,"date":"2026-07-05T03:51:18","date_gmt":"2026-07-05T03:51:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/britain\/76770\/"},"modified":"2026-07-05T03:51:18","modified_gmt":"2026-07-05T03:51:18","slug":"large-police-presence-as-anti-immigration-protestors-march-down-county-road","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/britain\/76770\/","title":{"rendered":"Large police presence as anti immigration protestors march down County Road"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A march is underway in Liverpool this afternoon<\/p>\n<p>13:20, 04 Jul 2026Updated 13:25, 04 Jul 2026<\/p>\n<p>Police presence at County Road protest<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh\" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">A group of around 50 anti immigration protestors gathered on County Road this afternoon outside the Royal Oak pub while a large police presence, including mounted officers with horses wearing riot gear gathered to meet them.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh\" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">The far-right protestors began to assemble in dribs and drabs throughout the morning ahead of a planned march setting off from the Royal Oak. The pub remained closed with the doors locked ahead of the protest.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh\" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">The protestors, a mix of middle aged men and younger men wearing black baseball caps and black sportswear, continued to mill about in the area before setting off down County Road towards <a aria-label=\"\" class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.liverpoolecho.co.uk\/all-about\/liverpool-city-centre\" rel=\"follow nofollow noopener\" tabindex=\"0\" target=\"\">Liverpool city centre<\/a> at about 1pm.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh\" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">They were confronted by three counter protestors over the road. Retired social worker Sil\u00e9 Macraghnaill, 72, told the Echo that the local community is \u2018fed up\u2019 with scenes such as these.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh\" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">The marchers chanted \u2018left-wing scum off our streets\u2019 at the counter-protestors. One demonstrator unfurled a St George\u2019s Flag with the words \u2018Send them back\u2019 written in black marker pen across it as the march began.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh\" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\">Children continued to play on nearby streets.
