The new\u00a0David Bowie<\/a>\u00a0exhibition in London\u2019s Lightroom\u00a0has announced new\u00a0live shows, pitch-black album playbacks and\u00a0more.<\/p>\n

The immersive\u00a0David Bowie:\u00a0You\u2019re\u00a0Not Alone\u00a0experience is running now\u00a0at the King\u2019s Cross venue<\/a>. It is showing daily until October, and now organisers have confirmed that evening screenings have been extended until January.<\/p>\n

A special day of celebration has also been announced for January 8 next year, which would have marked Bowie\u2019s 80th birthday.<\/p>\n

Among the newly announced events is\u00a0a series of\u00a0Adam Buxton<\/a>\u2019s celebrated BUG Bowie Specials, which will be held on July 2, 3 and 4. The comedian and podcaster will celebrate Bowie\u2019s music videos and screen work, alongside archive clips and his own commentary.<\/p>\n

There will also be\u00a0a series of live shows from cellist and composer Peter Gregson, who will offer a creative response to the work of Bowie,\u00a0Brian\u00a0Eno<\/a>\u00a0and their contemporaries from the Berlin era.\u00a0Those\u00a0concerts will take place on September 3, 4 and 5, with 7pm and 9pm\u00a0performances on\u00a0each night.<\/p>\n

Gregson will play a programme featuring a newly arranged version of Steve Reich\u2019s \u2018Electric Counterpoint\u2019 for electric cello, Eno\u2019s \u2018Music For Airports\u2019, his own recomposed Bach Prelude and newly composed pieces. Each show will also include a unique Bowie covers section.<\/p>\n

Elsewhere, Lightroom has partnered with Pitch Black Playback for three album listening parties in complete darkness, using the venue\u2019s HOLOPLOT spatial audio system.\u00a0\u2018The Rise\u00a0And\u00a0Fall\u00a0Of\u00a0Ziggy Stardust\u00a0And\u00a0The\u00a0Spiders\u00a0From\u00a0Mars\u2019 will be\u00a0played in full on July 28, followed by\u00a0\u2018Let\u2019s\u00a0Dance\u2019\u00a0on August 4 and\u00a0\u2018Earthling\u2019\u00a0on August 11. Each event will also include a viewing of\u00a0You\u2019re\u00a0Not Alone.<\/p>\n

Bowie Nights will also take over the opening night of King\u2019s Cross Summer Sounds on August 13, with a free outdoor concert in Coal Drops Yard featuring Ashaine White, Jack Kaye \u2013 formerly of The Magic Gang \u2013 and a surprise headliner. Each act will include a Bowie cover in their set.<\/p>\n

On September 25, Bowie\u2019s former publicist Alan Edwards will interview the artist\u2019s friend and collaborator Geoff MacCormack and co-author J\u00e9r\u00f4me Soligny about their new book David Bowie Music Lover, which explores Bowie\u2019s inspirations through his record collection.<\/p>\n

Lightroom chief executive Richard Slaney said: \u201cCelebrating the multifaceted nature of art and artists is one of Lightroom\u2019s central missions \u2013\u00a0that\u2019s\u00a0what these Bowie Nights are aiming to do.<\/p>\n

David Bowie:\u00a0You\u2019re\u00a0Not Alone\u00a0was written and directed by Mark Grimmer, creative director for the V&A\u2019s David Bowie Is exhibition, and Tom Wexler.\u00a0It\u00a0showcases\u00a0some of Bowie\u2019s landmark performances, using material selected from thousands of hours of film held in the vaults of the David Bowie Archive in New York.<\/p>\n

Speaking to\u00a0NME\u00a0earlier this year<\/a>, Grimmer said the show \u201cvividly captures the human side of the icon\u201d,\u00a0while also tracing his creative journey \u201cfrom Brixton to \u2018Blackstar\u2019\u201d.<\/p>\n

Elsewhere,\u00a0the V&A\u00a0have\u00a0announced that\u00a0highlights from the David Bowie archive\u00a0at their East Storehouse\u00a0will go on tour across the UK from November<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The touring exhibition,\u00a0David Bowie: On Tour, will feature more than 100 items from the archive, including costumes, instruments, handwritten lyrics, photographs, unrealised projects and objects from Bowie\u2019s final albums \u2018The Next Day<\/a>\u2019\u00a0and\u00a0\u2018Blackstar<\/a>\u2019.<\/p>\n

Bowie\u2019s live band from Glastonbury 2000\u00a0are also\u00a0reuniting\u00a0for the Live On The Loch charity celebration at Cameron House on Loch Lomond on November 7 and 8<\/a>, in another commemoration of the 10th anniversary of Bowie\u2019s death.<\/p>\n
