A violent abuser repeatedly punched his ex-partner and sent her a photo of a petrol canister threatening to burn her. Jason Thomas, of Talwrn Road, Pentraeth, appeared at Mold<\/a> Crown Court for sentencing on Friday, July 3.<\/p>\n

The 36-year-old previously admitted assault, controlling and coercive behaviour and harassment causing fear of violence. During their four-year relationship, Thomas attempted to control his partner.<\/p>\n

He put a tracking device in her car without her knowledge, falsely accused her of having an affair, went through her phone without her permission and called her names such as “s**g” and “wh**e”.<\/p>\n

Their relationship ended in June 2025, but Thomas continued his harassment towards her. She blocked his phone number, but he continued to contact her. You can sign up for all the latest court stories here<\/a><\/p>\n

In August 2025, he attacked her by punching her several times to her face and body causing painful bruising.<\/p>\n

He then sent her a photo of a petrol canister and threatened to burn her, leaving her feeling scared for her life.<\/p>\n

He was jailed for three years and four months.<\/p>\n

He was also made subject of a 10-year Domestic Abuse Protection Order (DAPO) which prohibits him from contacting the victim.<\/p>\n

Detective Inspector Chris Burrow said: \u201cThomas\u2019s behaviour towards his ex-partner has had a devastating impact on her mental health and wellbeing.<\/p>\n

\u201cNo one should ever feel unsafe in their home, especially at the hands of someone who chooses to use violence and fear.<\/p>\n

\u201cI commend the victim for her courage in coming forward and hope that she no longer lives in fear that he will harm her or her family.<\/p>\n
