A 16-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a woman died at a house in south Manchester on Wednesday morning (July 8).<\/p>\n

Officers from Greater Manchester Police<\/a>, along with paramedics, were called to the scene on Ivylea Road in Burnage following reports of an assault at a house at around 8am.<\/p>\n

The victim, a woman in her 60s was tragically pronounced dead at the scene by responders. A murder investigation was launched by detectives and remains ongoing.<\/p>\n

On Wednesday evening, a police car was pictured along the residential street. A witness said there was a major police presence at a house throughout the day amid investigations.<\/p>\n

A teenager, a boy aged 16, remains in custody to be questioned in relation to the incident. The M.E.N understands the victim was related to the suspect.<\/p>\n

A Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said in a statement: “Officers responded to reports of an assault at an address on Ivylea Road, Burnage at around 8am today (08\/07\/26).<\/p>\n

“One woman aged in her 60s sadly died at the scene and a boy, aged 16, has been arrested on suspicion of murder.
