HSBC announced today the successful private placement of its first digitally native structured product. It involves\u00a0US dollar-denominated notes issued in Hong Kong, supported by Marketnode, an Asia Pacific\u00a0digital market infrastructure operator.<\/p>\n
Marketnode\u00a0acted as\u00a0the tokenisation agent, enabling digitally native issuance directly\u00a0on\u00a0a blockchain. It\u00a0also acted\u00a0as the digital paying agent, managing\u00a0payment flows between issuer and investor.<\/p>\n
Suvir Loomba, regional head of securities services, Asia, at HSBC, and Marketnode board member, said:\u00a0\u201cBuilding on HSBC\u2019s work in digital assets and innovation,\u00a0this issuance\u00a0demonstrates how we\u2019re\u00a0working with market participants to develop practical, scalable solutions for institutional-grade digital finance.\u201d<\/p>\n
